Abstract:Objective To?study?the?impact?of?the?dose?of?ultrasound?contrast?agent?on?the?evaluation?of?renal?tissue?perfusion?and?optimize?the?dose?selection?for?clinical?evaluation. MethodsPerfusion?images?were?acquired?in?the?kidneys?of?five?dogs?using?low?mechanical?index?real-time?harmonic?contrast-enhanced?ultrasound?with?the?contrast?agent?dose?of?0.020?ml/kg,?0.025?ml/kg,?0.030?ml/kg?and?0.040?ml/kg.?The?data?was?analyzed?by?a?QLAB.?Three?region?of?interests(ROI)were?selected?in?the?kidneys.?Perfusion?parameters?were?calculated?for?each?ROI?anda?curve?fitting?algorithm?was?applied?for?the?curve?of?the?ROI?data.?The?mean?value?of?the?derived?peak?intensity(DPI)and?the?time?to?peak(TTP)were?calculated?automatically.?The?best?dose?for?the?evaluation?of?renal?tissue?perfusion?was?obtained?by?statistical?analysis?of?the?data?of?DPI?and?TTP?for?each?dose. Results There?were?a?significantly?difference?in?the?DPI?among?all?the?four?group(P?<?0.05).?No?difference?was?found?among?all?the?TTP(P?>?0.05). ConclusionsThe?dose?of?0.025?ml/kg?might?be?the?best?dose?of?ultrasound?contrast?agent?for?the?evaluation?of?dog?renal?tissue?perfusion.
