Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors of in-hospital death of aged female patients with acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction. Methods From 2009 to 2010,a total of 343 aged patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were selected in Department of CCU, the First Affiliated Hospital of Tsinghua University and Xuanwu Hospital, including 92 females and 251 males. Clinical data was compared between different gender. Results There was no significant differences of incidence of hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, single vascular lesions, double vascular lesions, three vascular lesions, left main coronary artery + right main coronary artery + other lesions and complications, heart rate and systolic pressure at admission,TG,serum creatinine,CRP(P﹥0. 05);age of female patients were elder than male patients, incidence of atypical symptoms, blood glucose, LDL - C, HDL - C, BNP, in - hospital mortality were higher, attack to CCU time was longer, smoking rate, diastolic pressure at admission,LVEF,CK-MB peak value, proportion of over or equalⅡKillip grading, emergency PCI treatment rate, reperfusion treatment rate were lower( P﹤0. 05). Multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that, female, increased BNP were risk factors of in-hospital death of aged patients with acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction ( P﹤0. 05 ). Conclusion Aged female patients with acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction have elder age, higher incidence of atypical symptoms, misdiagnose rate, mistreatment rate and in-hospital mortality, more severe illness, and female, increased BNP are risk factors of in-hospital death.
