A survey of psychological resistance to insulin treatment among T2DM patients in Fangshan district,Beijing

Abstract: Objective To understand the psychological resistance to insulin treatment among T2DM patients in Fangshan district, Beijing and to analyze the related factors. Methods 96 T2DM patients were surveyed with questionnaires. A logistic regression analysis was conducted. Results 70 cases (72.9%) were willing to receive insulin treatment if needed; 26 cases (27.1%) were not willing to receive insulin treatment. The logistic regression analysis showed that the knowledge of insulin had a close correlation with the willingness of receiving insulin treatment (OΓ=1.814，P<0.01). Conclusion The main factor of psychological resistance to insulin treatment in T2DM patients in Fangshan district is the lack of insulin knowledge. Health education should be enhanced.
