Abstract:Objective To analyze the relation between type 2 diabetes and smoking.Results The prevalence of diabetes in smoking quitter was 7.48%,and it was 3.76% and 2.89% respectively in the nonsmoking and smoking for male.The highest prevalence of diabetes in the smoking was 5.65%.It was 4.90% and 3.66% respectively in the smoking quitter and the nonsmoking for female.There are positive correlation between smoking index and diabetes ( r =0 96, P <0 01).Conclusion Logistic regression analysis on smoking index with diabetes showed that when smoking index is more than 130 (the smoked amount of more than 13 cigarettes per day for the periods from 20 years old to 40 years old),the risks of diabetes were OR=1.37,AR=27.0% for male,and OR=1.92,AR=47.9% for female.
