Impact of Idiopathic Ventricular Premature Contractions on the Structure and Function of Left Ventricular

Abstract:Objective This article aims to investigate,according to the grade of Lown’s stratification,the impact of clinical characteris-tics of idiopathic ventricular premature contractions(IPVCs)on cardiac structure,as wel as cardiac function.Methods One hundred and eleven IPVCs inpatients in group 1 and 33 patients without IPVCs in group 2 were studied.According to the grade of Lown’s stratification,111 IPVCs inpatients were divided into three groups:Group A(<LownⅢ),group B(≥LownⅢ)and group C(burst ven-tricular tachycardia).The general information and the data of the biochemistry of serum were col ected,and the cardiac structure and function is determined by echocardiogram and compared.Results Left ventricular (LV)end systolic diameter(LVESD),LV end diastolic dimension (LVEDD),LV ejection fraction (LVEF)in group 1 were less than that in group 2(P<0.05).LVESD is as fol ows group A,group B,group C in a ascending order,and the difference between group A and C group was statistical y significant(P<0.01), also between B group and C group.LVEDD is as fol ows group A,group B,group C in a ascending order,and the difference between group A and group C was statistical y significant(P<0.05).LVEF is as fol ows group A,group B,group C in a decending order,and the difference between group A and group C was statistical y significant(P<0.01),also between group B and group C.The the grade of Lown’s stratification were positively correlated with LVESD(r= 0.360,P= 0.000),LVEDD(r= 0.350,P= 0.000),and negatively correlated with LVEF(r= -0.276,P= 0.003).Conclusion IPVCs has influence on cardiac structure,as wel as cardiac function. With PVCs burden increasing and the form becoming complex,the left ventricle shows a tendency to expand and cardiac function shows a downward trend.
