Abstract:Objective To discuss the etiology and risk factors of stroke?associated pneumonia ( SAP ) in elderly patients with multiple drug?resistant( MDR) bacterial infections. Methods The data of 132 elderly inpatients with SAP from January 2012 to December 2014 were analyzed retrospectively, and the composition and characteristics of MDR bacteria and the risk factors were observed and analyzed. Results There were 65 MDR strains in 132 patients, and gram?negative bacteria was predominated. The top six stains were pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococcus aureus, klebsiella pneumonia bacillus, e. coli bacteria, gas enterbacteriaceae and dung enterococcus. Univariate analysis indicated that there was statistical difference between the two groups in age, type of stroke, level of consciousness, feeding way, and mechanical ventilation. Multivariable regression analysis indicated that age, level of consciousness, mechanical ventilation were associated with MDR. Conclusions Gram?negative bacillus predominated in MDR, staphylococcus aureus is also an important MDR. Age, level of consciousness, mechanical ventilation are risk factors of MDR bacterial infections in elderly patients.
