Resveratrol promotes the liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy

Abstract:Objective To explore whether resveratrol can promote liver regeneration after 70% partial hepatectomy and to provide an animal model for clinical investigation of drugs for liver regeneration .Methods One hundred C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 2 groups :experimental group and control group .Mice in the control group were given 0 .9% saline by intraperitoneal injection ,while the mice in experimental group were given resveratrol for 5 days .Mice were all subjected to 70% pH 2 h after their last injection of 0 .9% saline or resveratrol .We assessed the liver generation by liver weight/body weight ratio ,real‐time PCR and immunochemical staining of Ki‐67 .Results After pH 36 h and 48 h ,the liver weight/body weight ratio of the experimental group increased compared with the control group (4 .56 ± 0 .07 vs 3 .93 ± 0 .07 ;5 .36 ± 0 .07 vs 4 .6 ± 0 .09) .Liver ki‐67 expression was most active after 36 h ,and then fall after 48 h ,the ki‐67 expression of the experimental group was significantly increased .The tissues hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF‐α) levels of experimental group are significantly higher than the control group . Conclusion Resveratrol could obviously promote liver regeneration after 70% liver hepatectomy .
