Correlation between C-X-C chemokine receptor type 7 expression and prognosis of digestive system tumor: a Meta analysis

Abstract:Objective To assess the value of C-X-C chemokine receptor type 7 (CXCR7) expression in the prognosis of digestive system tumor. Methods PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CBM, VIP, CNKI and Wanfang Data were searched for collecting retrospective cohort studies on the correlation between CXCR7 expression and clinical prognosis of cancer patients, and relevant articles were also retrieved from inception to May 30, 2017. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, two researchers screened literature and evaluated the quality of the included studies independently. Meta-analysis were performed by RevMan 5.3.1 software. The pooled effect was calculated and the correlations between CXCR7 and overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS) were evaluated by Meta-analysis with hazard ratio(HR)and 95% confidence interval(CI).Results A total of 19 studies were included. Meta-analyses showed that OS and DFS of patients with CXCR7 over-expression were significantly shorter than those with low or negative expression.The HR for OS and DFS was 1.52 and 6.80,the 95%CI were 1.31~1.77 and 2.2~20.56 respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01, P=0.001). CXCR7 expression were shorter than those with low or negative expression of CXCR7 in gallbladder cancer, hepatocellular cancer and pancreatic cancer patients. But CXCR7 over-expression has no more risks for those with CXCR7 low or negative expression in esophageal cancer, the difference was no statistically significant (P=0.216). Conclusion The expression of CXCR7 has predictive value for the overall survival and disease-free survival time of digestive system tumor, and CXCR7 can be recommended as a useful survival biomarker in clinical practice.
