The risk factors analysis of additional surgery after Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) for early gastric cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the risk factors of additional surgery after endoscopic submucosal dissection for Early Gastric Cancer(EGC).Methods From October 2011 to November 2016,clinical data of 46 patients who received additional surgery after ESD for EGC were analyzed retrospectively by using SPSS19 software,including 27 male cases and 19 female cases.The influence factors of incisal margin and circumferential resection margin after ESD were compared by using chi-square test.A P value <0.05 was considered as statistically significant difference.Results showed that risk factors of additional surgery after ESD for EGC included vascular invasion,submucosa invasion,poor differentiation,positive incisal margin and circumferential resection margin(distance between cancerous tissue and resection margin <1 mm).There were close relationship between the resection margin and the depth of lesion.Conclusion For EGC,vascular invasion,submucosa invasion and positive incisal margin and circumferential resection margin are the risk factors of additional surgery after ESD,however canceousr tissue close to resection margin(<1 mm)still need further research.
