Abstract:Platelet-rich plasma ( PRP ) has been widely used for the treatment of bone and soft tissue injury. The mechanism of PRP improving tissue regeneration is associated with multiple growth factors released after platelet activation , which accelerate cellular proliferation and differentiation and extracellular matrix synthesis .In recent years , studies about extracellular vesicles ( including ectosomes and exosomes ) have developed greatly , and found that extracellular vesicles play important roles in tissue healing.PRP contains large numbers of microvesicles , however, there are just few studies on PRP-derived extracellular vesicles now .The biological characteristics of PRP-derived extracellular vesicles and the possible mechanisms of promoting tissue repair were reviewed in this article .
