Endoscopic-assisted one-stage correction of the crooked nose morphology and nasal airway function

Abstract:Objective To explore the application of an endoscopic-assisted approach in septal deviation and bony deflection corrective surgery.To evaluate the effect of one-stage correction of crooked nose morphology and nasal airways.Methods Endoscopic-assisted corrective rhinoplasty and septoplasty were performed in 60 cases with septal deviation and bony deflection.Treatment efficacy was evaluated.Results The follow-up period was from 8 to 15 months.All cases showed various degrees of improvement.The crooked noses in 58 cases were fully corrected (96.67％),and the deviation was less than 2 mm.The patients' satisfaction rate was 99％,and no complications such as nasal septal perforation or nasal cavity synechia were reported.Conclusion Septal deviation combined with bony deflection can be corrected by performing corrective rhinoplasty and septoplasty simultaneously,achieving one-stage improvement of crooked nasal morphology and nasal airway function.This approach has the advantages of minimal invasion,clearer ability to visualize nasal morphology during surgery,less pain,shorter recovery time,fewer complications,and better overall outcomes.This method is recommended for popularizing in clinical application.
