Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effects of circumcision on sexual function. Methods We searched databases such as Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, VIP, SinoMed and Wangfang to identify related studies. Two independent boffins were employed to carry out the quality evaluation of the studies. We used RevMan5.3 software to process statistical analysis. Results Finally, 8 studies were incorporated in the study which described a total of 32,469 cases. Statistical analysis showed that there were no significant statistical differences in erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculations, sexual desire, dyspareunia, orgasm difficulties and sexual satisfaction between patients who had circumcised and those uncircumcised. Conclusion The circumcision has no significant effects on erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculations, sexual desire, dyspareunia, orgasm difficulties and sexual satisfaction. Well-designed and RCT studies are required for a further understanding of this topic.
