Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of angiocentric glioma (AG) for improving the diagnosis and treatment of AG.Methods Clinical data of 1 AG patient was reviewed retrospectively and the related literature were retrieved and analyzed. Results Intractable epilepsy was the main clinical manifestation in this case. The lesion of the left temporal lobe was resected completely and the pathologic diagnosis was AG (WHO grade Ⅰ).No sign of tumor recurrence was observed on the MRI and abnormal discharges were seen occasionally on electroencephalogram 3 months after operation. The patient was followed up for 8 months after operation and the patient did not experience seizures any more. The outcome of surgery was Engle grade Ⅰ.There were no surgical complications except for aggravating of memory loss. Conclusion AG is rare, but is a benign tumor, mostly manifest as intractable epilepsy, surgical resection ofepileptogenic foci including tumors should be performed and the postoperative outcome is satisfactory.
