Abstract:Objective To assess the effects of inhibiting the superficial femoral artery sympathetic nervous treating the thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO). Methods The data of 3 patients with TAO from Jan. 2013 to Aug. 2013, who underwent the inhibiting the superficial femol artery sympathetic nervous by radiofrequency ablation, were analyzed retrospectively. Results Three cases of operations were successfully completed and postoperative symptoms improved significantly. Ankle brachial index (ABI) increased from 0.3,0.2,0.3 preoperatively to 1.0,0.8,0.8 postoperatively. During the follow-up, there were no clinical symptoms of relapse. Computed tomographic angiography(CTA) showed lesion vassels patency. Conclusions The treatment of the inhibiting the superficial femoral artery sympathetic nervous by radiofrequency ablation not only gets the effects same as umber sympathectomy, but also prevents complication of lumbar sympathectomy. However, because of the small number of cases and short follow-up, long-term results should be further studied.
