Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of “Clinical pathway (CP)” teaching model combine with“Problem‐based learning(PBL)” in the clinical practice of neurosurgery .Methods 60 clinical medical students of neurosurgery department during 2012 to 2014 were randomly divided into two groups . The experimental group (30 students) was treated by CP combined with PBL teaching model ,while the control group (30 students) was treated by traditional teaching model .At the term of the prac‐tice ,students were comprehensive assessed by the practice examinaion and questionnaire .The date was analyzed according to the Student ,test and Chi‐square test .Results The average scores of aca‐demic examination(P= 0 .000) ,clinical practical skill (P= 0 .031) ,ability of case analysis (P=0 .000) ,and the total average scores(P= 0 .001) in the experimental group were significant higher than the traditional teaching model group .The effect of these two kinds of teaching was evaluated and compared in stimulating learning interest in learning(P=0 .021) ,deepening the understanding of the basic knowledge (P=0 .024) ,improving the independent thinking and self‐study ability(P=0 .001) , improving the consulting documents ability(P=0 .000) ,training the clinical work ability(P=0 .012) , normalizing the treatment (P=0 .002) ,improving the criticize thinking ability(P=0 .001) ,cultiva‐ting the cooperation(P=0 .028) ,and satisfaction rate of teaching model (P=0 .000)were significant higher than the traditional teaching model group .Conclusion The teaching model of CP combined with PBL for the clinical practice teaching of neurosurgery can significant improve the quality of practice teaching ,and the practice effect was significant higher than the control teaching model .
