Abstract:The Wnt pathway and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) pathway regulate critical biological processes during osteoblasts differentiation.There are more and more evidences involved in osteoblasts proliferation,differentiation and mineralization about these tow pathway.However,the controversies still exist in the osteoblasts function regulated by Wnt signaling and TGF-β signaling.Even those contradictory conclusions were drawn from different studies.This is primarily due to the synergistic effect between different pathways.Several studies have shown that cooperation between TGF-β and Wnt signaling pathways plays a role in controlling osteoblasts maturity events.This review put the highlight on the cross-talk between TGF-β and Wnt signaling pathways in order to understand the molecular mechanism for the cooperation about these pathways in osteoblast differentiation.
