Abstract:Objective:to explore the change of immune factors and matrix metalloproteinase(MMPs)of patients after modified radical mastectomy using laryngeal mask airway(LMA)anesthesia and intratracheal intubation anes-thesia.Methods:Primary breast cancer surgery patients, from Jun.2014 to Dec.2016,were randomized to LMA or in-tratracheal intubation anesthesia group.Preoperative and postoperative serum levels of immune cytokines(IL-1β,IL-2,IL-4,IL-6,IL-8,IL-10,IL-13,IFN-γ)and MMP-1,MMP-3,MMP-9 were measured and compared of these two groups. Results:The changes of preoperative and postoperative serum levels of IL-1β,IL-10,MMP-3 and MMP-9 were significant between LMA group and intratracheal intubation anesthesia group.Serum level of IL-1β was decreasing after surgery, but the change was more significant in LMA group(P<0.05).Serum level of IL-10 was increasing in LMA group but was decreasing in intratracheal intubation anesthesia group(P<0.05).Both MMP-3 and MMP-9 were increasing after surgery in these two groups, but the changes were more significant in in-tratracheal intubation anesthesia group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with intratracheal intubation anesthesia, LMA anesthesia could enhance the anti-cancer immune response, attenuate the serum level of MMPs and thus de-cline the possibility of recurrence and metastasis in the future after modified radical mastectomy.
