Abstract:Objective To analyze change of CD4+ cell counts in HIV/AIDS patients receiving highly active an-tiretroviral treatment (HAART) in Gansu Province, and analyze if there are diffenent treatment effects between different gender, age and infection routes. Methods CD4+ cell counts at different time points of HIV/AIDS patients treated for 5 years were described by SPSS19.0.Relationship of CD4+ cell counts with gender, age and infection routes was analyzed using mixed effects model. Results The study enrolled 103 HIV/AIDS patients. The male accounted for 67.96% and the female accounted for 32.04%.Most of the patients were at the age of 21-50 years at the start of treatment, accounting for 86.41%.Sex contact was the major transmission route, accounting for 68.93%.The median value of CD4 + cells was 156 cells/uL at baseline. At 1,2,3,4 and 5 years of treatment,it was 290 cells/μL,309 cells/μL,344 cells/μL,347 cells/μL and 525 cells/μL,respectively.Statistical analysis demonstrated that CD4+ cell counts were positively correlated with treatment time and level of CD4+ cells at baseline. There were no significant differences in gender and age. There were significant differences in curative effects between MSM and those transmitted through contaminated blood(P<0.05).Conclusion Within 5 years of HAART,CD4+ cell counts show an upward trend in Gansu. The curative effect in MSM is better than that in those transmitted through contaminated blood.
