Acceptance of progressive lenses for juvenile myopes

Abstract:Objective We examined the acceptance of lenses de signed for juvenile myopes by Sola International Holdings. Medhods Fifty myopes with prescriptions ranging from -0.75D to -4.00D, aged from 12～14y were recruited to wear the progressive lenses. The trial involved a pre-wear questionnaire, about one week of wear and a post-wear questionnaire, children were seen again after 4 weeks. Results Distance vision was rated acceptable to very good by 98% of the subjects at the end of one week. All children had successfully adapted to the lens at the end of 4 weeks. Conclusions The progressive lenses provides good vision for children, and adaptation to lens is substantially complete within a week or little more time.
