The cross-sectional investigation on health condition of the officers and soldiers from littoral army in Liao Ning Province

Abstract:Objective To investigate health condition of the officers and soldiers from littoral army in Liao Ning Province and influencing factor.Methods The cluster sampling was used.The self-designing health questionnaires were applied to this investigation.The questionnaire included 20 subjective symptoms,which were relevant with hematological system and digestive system diseases.Results Twenty subjective symptoms listed in the questionnaire all appeared among the 3170 officers and soldiers from littoral army in Liao Ning Province,but the incidence were difference in this subjective symptoms,in which the fidget,dizziness,depression,fatigue and insomnia,which were listed from top first to the fifth,was 6.5%,31.6%,31.0%,30.7% and 27.4% respectively.The incidence of 5 frequent subjective symptoms above differred in the officers and soldiers with different duty,arm of the service,time to be in military service and level of culture.The incidence rate of fidget,depression from the officers was higher than soldiers,which was 54.5%vs36.1%,44.2%vs30.7% respectively(P<0.05).The incidence rate of fidget,dizziness,depression,fatigue and insomnia from the officers and soldiers in navy was 48.8%,39.6%、43.1%,38.2% and 32.9%,which was higher than that in army and air-force respectively(P<0.05).The incidence of fidget,depression,fatigue and insomnia from the officers and soldiers with time to be in military service over 9 years and that of dizziness during 3 to 8 years was 46.9%,46.0%,45.1%,38.1% and 40.4% respectively,which was higher than that with others time to be in military service(P<0.05).The incidence rate of fidget,depression,fatigue from the officers and soldiers with educational background of university or over university was 52.5%,43.3% and 42.5% respectively,which was higher than that with others educational background(P<0.05).The influencing factors of the incidence were involved in different duty,arm of the service,time to be in military service and level of culture,but the time to be in military service was most important influencing factors.Conclusions There were problems of the health condition in some officers and soldiers.The influencing factors were different duty,arm of the service,level of culture,especially the time to be in military service.The protective measure should be taken,the health education should be reinforced,the health examination should be carried out regularly to the officers and soldiers whose time to be in military service are above 2 years.
