Quality comparative study of Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid prepared by Lonicerae Flos and Lonicerae Japonicae Flos

Abstract:Objective To compare the possible differences in the quality of Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid prepared with Lonicerae Flos and Lonicerae Japonicae Flos ,and provide the basis for the preparation of Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid .Methods Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid was prepared by the method of Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2015 edition) ,and the contents of chlorogenic acid ,baicalin and forsythin in Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid were determined according to the quality standard of Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid by ultraviolet spectrophotometer and TLC .Results The contents of chlorogenic acid ,baicalin and forsythin in the both preparations of Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid were in accordance with the requirements of China Pharmacopoeia ,and the contents of chlorogenic acid and forsythin in Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid prepared with Lonicerae Flos was higher than that of prepared with Lonicerae Japonicae Flos ,though the difference was small .Conclusion Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid prepared by Lonicerae Flos can meet the quality standard of China Pharmacopoeia ,so Lonicerae Flos can be used as an alternative to Lonicerae Japonicae Flos for the prep-aration of Shuanghuanglian Oral Liquid .
