Establishment of the community stroke rehabilitation unit and evaluation of its operational result

Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of the community stroke rehabilitation unit (CSRU) on the community home rehabilitation of the patients with the stroke. Methods:Taking the permanent residents as the research objects, 86 patients left with the physical disabilities who had the new stroke were divided into group A and B with 43 cases each. The group A was intervened with the community stroke rehabilitation unit model and the group B was cared at home with the conventional method. The ability of the daily life activities and satisfaction of the patients and their family members for the CSRU of two groups were compared. Results:The score of the ability of the daily life activities of the group A was obviously higher after 3 and 6 months than that of the group B (P>0.05). The scores of the working ability, concern and communication, health education and satisfaction of the group A were signiifcantly higher than those of the group B (P<0.05). Conclusion:The model of CSRU can signiifcantly enhance the ability of the daily living activities of the stroke patients with the physical disabilities, and satisfaction of the patients and their family members.
