Progresses on R&D of Antibiotics in Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry During Recent Ten Years

Abstract:This paper briefly reviewed some achievements according to the publications by researchers from Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry (SIPI) during the recent ten years.By means of 1) antibioticproducing strains improvement;2) fermentation,isolation and purification process development;3) biocatalysis process development;4) new drug discovery and development,a lot of achievements were obtained,including:1) several antibacterial and antifungal generic antibiotics were developed,such as some anti-bacterial antibiotics like polymyxin E,daptomycin,oritavancin and dalbavancin,and some anti-fungi antibiotics like micafungin,caspofungin and anidulafungin;2) several new processes of antibiotics and drug intermediates were developed,such as lincomycin,netilmicin and rapamycin,and some chiral intermediates;3) several new antibiotic candidates were discovered.During this decade,more than 30 projects were developed and industrialized in more than 20 companies in our country.Among them,two projects won the second class prize of National Science and Technology Progress,two projects won the first class prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress,one project won the second class prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress,and two patents won the Excellence Award of Chinese Patent.
