An Animal Model of Transgenic Mice with Expression of Antibacterial Peptides

Abstract:Objective: To establish transgenic mice model which would express the antibacterial peptides. Methods: The pcDNA3.1-PCMG was used as target gene fragments and injected into fertilized mouse eggs through microinjection. These eggs were transplanted into the oviducts of the pseudopregnant mice. Results: Transgenic mice model was obtained. PCR and Southern blot analysis showed 7 of 119 mice were transgenic. Conclusion:The pcDNA3.1-PCMG fragment has integrated into mice genomic DNA. Transgenic mice have been obtained for the study of antibacterial peptides and provide a valuable animal model that resists diseases.
