The study on the relationship of Tp-Te interval and ventricular remodeling in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy

Abstract:Objective:To study the correlation of the Tp-Te interval and the heart weight index as well as the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter( LVEDD) in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy( DCM) . Methods:92 patients from cardiovascular department of Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College with diagnosed DCM were enrolled in this study,including 54 males and 38 fe-males with the mean age of 58. 46 years old,and 12. 86 days of hospitalization in average meeting the enroll criteria. The Tp-Te intervals of the subjects’ first ECG were assayed soon after admission. The parameters of ultrasound cardiogram for calculate the heart weight in-dex was simultaneously recorded. Results:The Tp-Te intervals in DCM were positively correlated with the heart weight index(r=0. 65, P<0. 01)and with the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD)(r=0. 751,P<0. 01). Conclusion:The Tp-Te intervals of lead V2 in patients with DCM are positively correlated with the left ventricular remodeling significantly,which indicate that ECG Tp-Te inter-vals may play an important role in estimating the left ventricular remodeling in DCM patients.
