Abstract:Objective:To analyze the pathogen identification, clinical phenotype and the CD4+ cells in 54 HIV/AIDS patients complicated with oral candidiasis (OC).Methods:54 HIV/AIDS patients with OC treated in our hospital from July 2015 to April 2016 were enrolled and classified according to OC clinical phenotype.Mucosal swab samples were collected, and inoculated to CHROMagar Candida for pathogenic identification. The detection rate of non-albicans Candida species in patients with CD4+ cell count <50/mm3 and > 50/mm3 were compared. Results:The OC clinical phenotype mainly manifested in pseudomembranous and erythema types. The detection rate of Candida albicans was the highest (75%),and followed by Candida tropicalis (11.67%).The CD4+ cell count ranged from 5-464 cells/mm3 in 54 cases of OC patients. The detection rate of non-albicans Candida species in patients with CD4+ cell count <50/mm3 was higher than those > 50/mm3 (x2 =3.97,P =0.04).Conclusion:The OC clinical phenotypes were mainly pseudomembranous and erythema types, and the main types of pathogen were C.albicans and C.tropicalis in HIV/AIDS patients with OC.Non-albicans Candida was common pathogens in patients with CD4+ cell count <50/mm3.
