Roles of independent special lectures in elevating professional ability of graduate students in obstetrics and gynecology

Abstract:Favorable teaching effects were achieved by applying independent special lecture to postgraduate education.Every week, the students were asked to give an independent special lecture in professional English partly or in whole.Topics included the progress of obstetrics and gynecology, the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, guidelines, medical case discussion and so on.The teacher gave comments, posed questions, and discussed with the graduate students.Apart from goods teaching effects, this method improved the a-bility of independent learning and inspired creative thought .It also improved professional knowledge and professional English of profes-sional degree graduate students significantly.
