Abstract:ABSTRACT:Objective To investigate the protective effect of morin(Mor)on perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)-induced liver injury in mice.Methods Twenty-four male mice were randomly divid-ed into four groups:control group(same volume of normal saline),PFOA group(PFOA 10 mg· kg-1 ·d-1 ),Mor group(Mor 75 mg·kg-1 ·d-1 )and PFOA+Mor group(PFOA 10 mg·kg-1 · d-1 +Mor 75 mg· kg-1 · d-1 ),with 6 mice in each group.After treatment for 14 consecutive days,serum activities of alanine transaminase(ALT),aspartate transaminase(AST)and alkaline phosphatase(ALP),hepatic contents of malondialdehyde(MDA),and hepatic activities of super-oxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6 (IL-6)and cy-clooxygenase-2(COX-2)were measured in all groups.Results Compared with control group,liver injury indicators ALT,AST and ALP,inflammatory response markers CRP,IL-6 and COX-2,and lipid peroxidation product MDA increased,but antioxidant enzymes SOD and CAT decreased in PFOA group(P <0.05).Compared with PFOA group,simultaneous supplementation of Mor de-creased serum activities of ALT,AST and ALP,reduced hepatic contents of MDA,CRP,IL-6 and COX-2,and increased hepatic activities of SOD and CAT(P <0.05).Conclusion Mor protects a-gainst PFOA-induced liver injury in mice through anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation.
