Anti-inflammatory and antiviral role of protein kinase CK2

Abstract:Protein kinase CK2 has constitutive activation functions. More than 300 substrates for CK2 have been discovered, which are involved in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and signal transduction. In addition, CK2 plays an important role in cell life activities by inhibiting abnormal apoptosis, which ensures the cell survive under inflammatory environment or viral invasion. This article reviews the anti-inflammatory and antiviral role of CK2.
