Research Status and Progress of Chinese Risk Assessment Tools for Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract:Many kinds of methods have been used to detect people at high risk for diabetes. For being simple, economic,non-invasive, reliable and sensitive, diabetes risk assessment tools have been widely used for the screening of diabetes among community residents in Europe,North America and Australia,etc. Uniform versions and scoring criteria have been established in these countries. Although there is no uniform or recognized diabetes risk assessment tool in China,academics have introduced or developed some diabetes risk assessment tools of Chinese version. We made a review of the contents, development process,sensitivity and specificity of these tools,so as to provide references for the establishment of a recognized Chinese diabetes risk assessment tool in the future.
