Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between stroke ,sleep quality and depression ,and to provide reference for special intervention for post-stroke elderly .Methods The elderly(≥60 years) residents liv-ing in the community from three regions of Hebei province ,were selected according to a multi-stage stratified clus-ter sampling method .All of subjects were tested with the General Questionnaire and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality In-dex (PSQI) .Besides ,it was investigated that the sickness status of stroke or depression which dignosed by sec-ond-class or above hospitals .Results The prevalence of stroke in community elderly was 13 .9% ,and the rate in rural areas was higher than in urban areas (P<0.01) .26 .6% of the community elderly had sleep disorder ,and the rate of that in the stroke elderly was higher than those no stroke subjects (P<0.01) .5.73% of the commu-nity elderly had the depression ,and the rate of depression in stroke patients was significant higher than that with-out stroke (P<0.01) .Conclusion The community elderly with stroke had higher incidence of sleep disorder and depression than nomal elderly .So the problem should have been received high attention to decrease and delay the occurrence according to taking active measures immediately .
