Abstract:Objective To analyze the influence of joint application of arginine (Arg) and enteral nutrition (EN) on the immune function of gastric cancer patients after radical surgery, in order to evaluate the influence of immune nutrition on chemotherapy effects, adverse reactions, quality of life, and progression-free survival (PFS) of gastric cancer patients. Methods A total of 90 gastric cancer patients, who met the enrolling standard (screening by PG-SGA score), were randomly divided into three group as single chemotherapy group (group A), Arg combined with chemotherapy group (group B) and postoperative Arg combined with chemotherapy group (group C), and each group contained 30 cases. Detection was made on immune index, adverse reaction and PFS indicators. Results After the nutrition treatment, the immune nutritional status were all improved in the three groups, while the immune index in groups B and C were higher than group A (P<0.05). PFS was also higher in groups B and C than group A (P<0.05).Conclusion Early application of Arg enhanced EN can improve immune function in patients with gastric cancer, and it can also improve clinical effect of chemotherapy and patients’ life quality.
