Abstract:Emergency medicine as an independent subject has developed for nearly 20 years in China and achieved satisfying progress in the process of exploring,controversy and using the international experience for reference.We have introduced up-to-date technologies and programs into emergency department of our hospital,presented fresh image in teaching and research and cultivated new pattern abilities of emergency medicine.Although current emergency medicine has entered a new development stage,its growth is unbalanced.This article discusses whether emergency medicine is common department or special department,branch subject or integrated subject,as well as probing into other aspects,such as its creation and conformity,its preclinic and specialty,first aid and disease prevention,confusion and future prospect.

Abstract:Objective To change the current situation of management of MDRO infection in hospitals;to perfect the managing mechanism as well as prevention and control measures;and to supervise the implementation.Methods Establish supervising-reporting mechanism and take effective managing measures to intervene,prevent and control the spread of multidrug-resistant organism within hospitals,in order to guarantee the medical environment and patients' safety.Conclusion Primary hospitals are supposed to establish the prevention and control system of multidrug-resistant organism.The responsibility of each department should be clarified and dealt with by all means cooperatively.Moreover,cooperation for the supervising and administration of MDRO injection are needed from medical workers.
Investigation in current curriculum system and regulation requirement of preventive medicine undergraduate major

Abstract:Objective To investigate and analyse the program objective and curriculum system of preventive medicine undergraduate major,and provide basis for the curriculum system reform. Methods Two hundred and twenty-five medical professionals or teachers in Shanghai were investigated with questionnaires,which were concerned with aspects of program objective,curriculum system,teaching contents and teaching methods of preventive medicine undergraduate major.Results 63.6% of participants believed that the current program objective of preventive medicine undergraduate major could meet the actual demand of public health undertakings,and 44.4% pointed out that 40% to 60% of knowledge learned from colleges could be utilized in work.83.6% of participants recommended to adopt an integrated design of experiment,91.5 % agreed to open more optional courses,55.1% proposed to go on a field trip to Center for Disease Control or Department of Health Supervision for at least 6 months,more than 60% suggested to offer courses such as community medicine,communication and behavioral science,91.6% advised to participate in the field investigations,and 87.6% and 67.1% offered to enrich the classes with case analysis and multimedia,respectively. Conclusion The program objective and curriculum system of preventive medicine undergraduate major should be regulated to fit the changes in medical modes and effectively solve the problems of public health.

Abstract:With China's economic development and life-style changes,the spectrum of diseases and risk factors affecting our people's health has drastically changed.The current systems,including health laws and decrees,education about clinical and preventive medicine,health services,disease prevention and control,and so forth,do not meet the real demands of the Chinese people's health promotion and protection.In this article,we analyze China's historical achievements,as well as current challenges and opportunities in healthcare policy formulation and implementation,and administrative strategy,and discuss how to establish an innovation-oriented national preventive medicine system in order to make efficient and ultimate use of limited resources to control the rapid increase in the prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases,and to protect and promote maximum public health across the nation.

Abstract:The pandemic of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) highlights the importance of early detection of disease outbreaks, taking swift and decisive public health actions, and strengthening public health systems. Preventive medicine, as a specialty of medicine, trains students on both clinical medicine and public health and is of a particular need in battling against this pandemic. In China, preventive medicine plays a unique role in the disease control system where preventive medicine graduates represent a large share of the workforce. However, there is a shortage of qualified staff in the Chinese disease control system. The reasons for such a shortage are multifaceted. From the human resource perspective, the undergraduate preventive medicine curricula and exclusive public health training for preventive medicine postgraduates limit their clinical capacities. A series of disease control and public health education reforms may further incapacitate preventive medicine graduates' clinical skills, unintentionally widening the gap between public health and clinical medicine and thus posing threats to effective disease detection and control. The authors call for reforming and optimizing preventive medicine to bridge the gap between clinical medicine and public health by strengthening curricula on clinical medicine, diversifying curricula on public health, enhancing preventive medicine residency programs, and rectifying regulations that restrict preventive medicine graduates from practicing curative medicine.

Abstract:With China's economic and social developments,the demand for healthcare services has been increasing rapidly.Traditional Chinese medicine is a unique healthcare resource and an economic resource with great potential in China.The services provided by traditional Chinese medicine include health preservation,healthcare,medical treatment,rehabilitation,and so forth,while the core of traditional medicine is the supply of healthcare services based on traditional Chinese medicinal products.The modernization of traditional Chinese medicine will promote the quiet formation of a comprehensive healthcare industry based on traditional Chinese medicine.A comprehensive healthcare industry based on traditional Chinese medicine involves the cultivation,R&D,production,circulation,and sales of traditional Chinese medical products,which are part of a long industry chain that crosses both sectors and regions.A comprehensive healthcare industry that is based on traditional Chinese medicine has st-ong advantages that include the adjustment of industrial structures,the ability to increase farmer income and employment,service toward healthcare reform,benefits toward people's livelihood,and ecological protection.This paper expounds the development situation of the comprehensive healthcare industry based on traditional Chinese medicine,analyzes existing problems and shortcomings,and proposes a strategic center,two strategic priorities,four developing directions,and six key initiatives.

Abstract:To promote and preserve social harmony, social stability, and sustainable economic development, it is essential to carry out a study on the current development strategy for the prevention of infectious diseases in China. It is also necessary to propose a regulatory system and a prevention-and-control research strategy for infectious diseases that are adaptable to China’s specific national conditions. This paper analyzes the epidemic situation and the prevention and control of infectious diseases in China, and systematically expounds the significance of carrying out a study on the development strategy for the prevention of infectious diseases. Using international experience as a reference, this paper proposes strategic measures and suggestions for a regulatory system and for prevention-and-control research into infectious diseases in China. This study is based on China’s achievements and challenges of the current system.

Abstract:Our society is in the process of modernization. With economic development, social progress and rapid improvement of people’s living standards, industrialization, urbanization, informatization and internationalization are gradually increasing. Aging problems are getting worse. Health and well-being in the national economic and social development are great challenges and opportunities. After nearly 30 years of rapid development, China has made remarkable achievements in healthcare. However, it still cannot meet the growing health needs of the people and faces many difficulties and challenges. The main problems lie in the following aspects: The first is to accelerate the transformation of the health mode. The second is the deterioration of the ecological environment has become an important factor that threatens the health of our people. The third is that there is fragmentation of preventive care strategies and preventable risk factors are not effectively controlled. The fourth is that there is inadequate provision of health services and the development of healthcare lags behind economic development and cannot meet national needs.

Abstract:With the continuous progress of social development, the people have gradually begun to pay attention to the awareness of life, health and safety, especially in all kinds of sporadic emergencies, which seriously threaten the people’s life, health, and safety, thereby forcing the public health management to make timely adjustments and improvements to adapt to the current social development level. In the future, public health management will face more arduous challenges and find a breakthrough in the development bottleneck. At present, there are many factors restricting the development of public health management in China. This paper analyzed the existing problems in China’s public health management, and proposed the corresponding improvement countermeasures in order to improve the level of China’s public health management in the new period. Abstract:Objective: To promote the healthy development of hospital preparations. Methods:The actualities and existing problems of hospital preparations in China were analysed. Results:There were some problems in hospital preparations, such as deviated orientation, relatively old techniques and preparations, lagging operating system of administration, low profits, etc. Conclusion: Measures should be taken to adjust the structure of hospital preparations reasonably, enhance its quality, manage its development and application, and promote the transformation from special hospital preparations to new drugs. Relevant government department should pay more attention and give more help to the development of hospital preparations.

Analysis of Academic Periodicals in Area of Public Health Andpreventive Medicine in China

Abstract:To analyze the present state of academic periodicals on public health and preventive medicine in China,73 academic periodicals in the area of preventive medicine and public health were selected from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) and Wanfang Data Knowledge Platform.The major sources of data come from the periodicals,CNKI,China Academic Periodicals Web,China Citation Database,China Academic Periodicals Analysis Platform,and Chinese Academic Journals Comprehensive Citation Report 2008(Beijing:Science Publisher).The 1980s is a period that saw the fastest growth in the number of periodicals,with growth rate over 200%.43.8% of the editorial offices are located in the North China,27.4% in Beijing.Most periodicals are published bimonthly(49.3%) while 4 are published semimonthly or once every ten days(5.47%).23% of the periodicals are sponsored by Chinese Preventive Medicine Association(CPMA).Most of them are of good quality in printing and other features.24.3% of them have their own websites,30.1% uses public websites,and 38.4% do not use websites at all.The average time between the submission and the publication of a paper is 178 days,which falls short of the requirement for national scientific periodicals.Electronic service is common and effective.69% of the periodicals respond to readers' queries within 24 hours.The average bibliometric indices of the 73 preventive medicine periodicals are as follows:the total publication number 259,the impact factor 0.392,the total citation 742,the impact factor in the same year 0.043,and the cited half-life 4.2 years.From 2001 to 2007,the 4 main indices(impact factor,impact factor in the same year,cited half-life,web download) see an upward trend.As a conclusion,Chinese preventive medicine periodicals have been improved in quantity since the 50's of the last century.The editorial,printing and service qualities have been improved.In the last decade,the average bibliometric indices(citation factor and source factor) have been improved steadily.However,the differences of the indices among journals are significant.Compared with the overall quality of Chinese scientific periodicals,the levels of network information and open database of preventive medicine periodicals lag relatively behind and need improvement.

Abstract:According to the definition of WHO,Pharmacovigilance is "the science and activity of testing,evaluating,understanding and preventing ADR(adverse drug reactions)and other relevant drug problems".The Pharmacovigilance System acts as an important safety tool in regards to both public drug use and public health.To most developing countries,drug safety within the public realm is not only the duty of the government but also an important indicator of social progress.Therefore,it is not only a requisite for the social development process but also a challenge to establish a satisfactory Pharmacovigilance System.The problem presented to developing countries such as Algeria is how to shift from ongoing fundamental work such as monitoring the ADR,to constructing an ideal Pharmacovigilance System.A preventive Pharmacovigilance is achieved when it starts to train medical practitioners to use the most effective drugs to better safety,tailored to each patient,administered at the right dose and for an adequate duration according to the pathology to treat,and watch in addition the cost of treatment to maintain it affordable for the individual and the community.

Abstract:Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) preparations in medical institutions embody the characteristics of TCM and are the source for the development of new TCM drugs. This study summarizes the current situation, existing problems, and development trends of the TCM preparations in medical institutions in 31 provinces across China. Furthermore, this paper puts forward the development path of new TCM preparations based on the requirements of registration and management regulations of TCM preparations, providing new ideas for promoting the inheritance, innovation, and development of TCM.

Abstract:The national essential drugs got steady development in more than 3 decades,to a certain extent,which satisfied the people's basic medical health needs,and improved the patients' ability to pay for drugs in basic medical institutions effectively.Therefore,the essential drugs system becomes a key of the reform of medical system at present our country.Based on the analysis of the essential drugs policies and application through the domestic literature,we foud that as the unscientific selection of essential drugs,there exist the absent relevant policies,the imperfect compensation mechanism of medical and health institutions,and so on,leading to the availability disorders phenomenon of essential drugs highlighted,such as the inadequate production and supply of essential drugs,the low reserves of medical institutions,the doctors not to be willing to prescribe essential drugs,the patient not to be willing to buy essential drugs,and so on,which hindered the implementation of essential drugs system.This study puts forward the related policy suggestions.The authors believe that we can formulate essential drugs catalogue scientificly and update it timely,and improve the availability,and perfect the compensation method of medical institution drugs zero error rate policy in order to guarantee the implementation of essential drugs system.
