Abstract:The view of aging in ancient Hebrews is a theological concept.The respect for the elderly is the fear of God.Through text explanation of Hebrew bible and Talmud,this article illustrates the old concept of the ancient Hebrews in aspects such as physically weak,worthy of respect,need to care,wisdom inheritance,hale and hearty,and the hope of resurrection.All aspects of the Jewish culture have impacted by these notions,including the processing of interpersonal relationship in everyday life,maintain the stability of cultural traditions,encourage positive philosophy of life,and philosophical thinking on life and death in the elderly,and so on.Respect for the elderly in the ancient Jews to have significant impact on the duration of Jewish history,which have important significance to resource allocation of geriatric medicine in modern China with an aging population.
