Abstract:The objective of this study was to investigate the additive effects and the epistatic effects of QTLs for the cold tolerance of germination period and the bud bursting period. In this study,F7 population including 190 individuals derived from a cross between Dongnong 422 and Kongyu 131 were used for constructing genetic linkage map, which was constructed based on 104 SSR molecular markers. We located quantitative trait loci for cold tolerance to low temperature germinability (LTG) and cold tolerance at bud-growth stage (CTP) by using inclusive composite interval mapping method. The results as follows:One QTL with additive effects for CTP was located on chromosome 4,which explained 16.84% of the phenotypic variance.Seventeen QTL with additive effects on chromosome 1,2,3,6,7,9 and 12 which were associated with LTG were detected which explained the range of the observed phenotypic variance from 5.64% to 35.67%.Two pairs of CTP QTLs with epistatic effects were found in the RIL,accounting for 19.3% of the general phenotypic variation, and thirty-three pairs of LTG QTLs with epistatic effects were detected, accounting for 18.35%,87.88%,87.38%,91.08% and 78.68%,respectively of the general phenotypic variation. These QTLs represented the mean length of incubation time and the germination rate at about 7d,10d,11d and 15d,respectively.The results indicated that the additive effects and the epistatic effects factor played an important role in the cold tolerance of germination period and the bud bursting period in rice. Therefore,QTLs with additive effects and epistatic effects should be considered in the improvement of rice breeding.
