Abstract:This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different metabolizable energy (ME) on performance of Jing Hong laying hens during late period of egg production, and to obtain appropriate energy proportion for them.A total of 720 Jing Hong laying hens aged of 41 weeks were randomly divided into Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ groups with 12 replicates per group and 15 hens per replicate. The measured dietary ME were 10.88 (group Ⅰ),11.13 (group Ⅱ),11.30 (group Ⅲ),11.51 (group Ⅳ) MJ/kg,respectively.The adaptation period was 1 week, and the experimental period was 22 weeks. The results showed that there was no significant difference in performance among these 4 groups (P>0.05),but laying rate, average egg weight, daily egg production and the ratio of feed to egg of group Ⅱ were better than that of group Ⅰ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ.Eggshell thickness of group Ⅳ was significantly lower than that of other three groups (P<0.05),and eggshell strength of group Ⅲ was higher than that of group Ⅰ (P<0.05).The Haugh unit of group Ⅳ was significantly lower than that of group Ⅰ and Ⅱ,and the Haugh unit decreased linearly with the increase of ME (P<0.05).Compared with group Ⅰ,yolk color of group Ⅲ was light (P<0.05),and yolk color decreased linearly with the increase of ME (P<0.05).Egg weight cost of group Ⅱ was lowest compared with that of other three groups. In conclusion,11.13 MJ/kg (CP/ME is 13.31 g/M J) is recommended as the suitable ME for 42~64 weeks Jing Hong laying hens.
