Abstract:The influence of di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) at different concentrations on soil microbial populations and enzyme activities were investigated by simulated experiments in order to evaluate its environmental and ecological effect of DEHP. The results showed that the treatment of 20 mg·kg-1 DEHP had little effect on number of soil bacteria and actinomycetes. The application of DEHP at other levels (50, 100, 200 and 400 mg·kg-1) showed inhibitory effect on soil bacteria and actinomycetes, and the inhibition effect exhibitied a dose-dependant manner with DEHP enhancement. The sensitivity of fungi on DEHP was weaker than that of bacteria and actinomycetes. The treatments of 20, 50 and 100 mg·kg-1 of DEHP on soil fungi showed inhibitory effect only within a short time; 10 d after application, soil fungi in these treatments were restored to normal level. The treatment with 200 and 400 mg·kg-1 of DEHP on soil fungi showed obvious inhibition. The application of DEHP on soil invertase showed inhibitory effect throughout the culture period. Al treatments of soil invertase activity compared with the control group showed significant difference. The application of 20 mg·kg-1 DEHP had little effect on the activity of soil urease, acid phosphatase and protease activity, while DEHP at other concentrations (50, 100, 200 and 400 mg·kg-1 ) had an obvious inhibitory effect on the activity of soil urease, acid phosphatase and protease; Moreover, with the increase in DEHP concentration, the inhibition effect was enhanced.
