TUSSUE CULTURE OF ALBUS GURIPINGENSIS

Abstract:Pieces of the corms, scales and apical buds of konjac (Albus guripinge nsis) were cultured as explants on different media. MS+6-BA0.5～1.0 mg/L+N AA0.5～1.0 mg/L appeared to be optimum for callus induction, with an induc tion rate of 100% for the corms and the scales, though no calli were regenerated from the ap ical buds. For regeneration of plantlets from the calli, the optimum medium was MS+BA1.5 mg/L +NAA 0.01 mg/L, with a differentiation rate of 90% or more. On su ch a differentiation medium, 72% of the cultured apical bud explants produced ro sette plantlets. All the regenerated plantlets rooted readily on MS+NAA0.3～ 0.5 mg/L and grew into complete plants.
