Abstract:A experiment was conducted to determine the effects of dry matter feeding rates (0.5,1.0,1.5,2.0,2.5,3.0,3.5,4.0% BW/day) on growth, conformation, and body compositions of sea bass under the condition of mean water temperature of 20℃.The results showed that percent body weight increase for the treatment of 1.5% body weight(BW)/day was significantly greater than that for the treatment of 1.0% BW/day, but difference of feed efficiency was not significant at the 5% level of probability. Hepatosomatic index, viscerosomatic index, whole-body lipid content, and viscera protein, lipid and ash contents significantly increased with increasing feeding rates, but carcass to body weight ratio, and whole body and visceral moisture contents significantly decreased with increasing feeding rates. Based on the growth and feed efficiency data, optimum dry matter feeding rate was 1.0%-1.5% BW/day.
