Contents of Heavy Metals in Wild Datura Stramonium and Its Safety Evaluation

Abstract:In order to know the contents of heavy metals in various organs of wild D.stramonium,so as to provide fundamental scientific data for habitat selection and drug safety in artificial cultivation of D.stramonium,the contents of ten heavy metals(Pb,Cd,Hg,As,Cu,Fe,Mn,Zn,Cr,Ni) in various organs(root,stem,leaf,fruit) were determined by atomic spectrophotometer method.The results showed that: 1) The contents of As,Hg,Cd and Pb in various organs in different growth period were 0.11~1.16 mg/kg,0.018~0.086 mg/kg,0.021~0.19 mg/kg and 0.42~4.63 mg/kg respectively.All of these did not exceed the safe values.2) The Cu contents in ripe leaves(35.1 mg/kg),ripe root(26.0 mg/kg),young fruits(26.4 mg/kg) and young roots(20.7 mg/kg) all exceeded the safe value(20.0 mg/kg),the Cu content in ripe leaves exceeded too much,75.5% higher than the safe value,and others exceeded slightly.
