Toxicologic Study on Corosolic Acid Concentrations of Seabuckthorn Leaves

Abstract:The acute oral toxicity,micronucleus test of bone marrow and sperm shape abnormality test in mice was applid on corosolic acid concentrations of seabuckthorn leaves according to the evaluation processes and methods of food safety toxicology.The acute oral toxicity showed the maximum tolerated dosesea (MTD) of seabuckthorn leaves concentrations through the mouth of mice was greater than 15 g/kg,indicating the seabuckthorn leaves concentrations had no toxic.The micronucleus test and sperm shape abnormality test demonstrated that the examined sample didn't presented mutagennicity.On the basis of the evaluation processes and methods of food safety toxicology,this study not only provided theoretical basis for edibility of seabuckthorn leaves concentrations,but promoted the seabuckthorn leaves exploitation actively.
