Abstract:Put forward a SNMP extensible agent based network simulator design architecture, which applies SNMP Extendible Agent architecture to current SNMP agent simulator systems. It creates one master-agent and several sub-agents. Every sub-agent simulates a network device, and communicates with the SNMP management side via the master-agent. Thus it implements the simulation of a certain size of network and meets the requirement for a test environment during developing network management project.

Abstract:Under the WAN environment,large-scale VPN networks is effectively and safely managed by long-distance centralized mana-gement system based on SNMP.To solve the flaw of topology discovery,a method in which agent initiates registry to the server is pro-posed.After analysis of the SNMPv3 security features,the public key authentication mechanism is introduced and the procedure of key negotiation is discussed in detail.For poor reliability and real-time data transmission of UDP-based SNMP,a strategy of configuration based on XML is given,which is proved to be feasible and efficient by the result of experiment at last.

Abstract:For improving the stability, reliability, and convenient safeguard in network systems, a new method for network fault detection based on the network device running status was proposed. Using the feature of real network and SNMP(simple network management protocol) and TELNET(telecommunication network protocol), the realization of multi-agent network management systems was discussed. The network management system is characterized by rapid network fault detection, determination and treatment, which has intelligence and capacity for self-study, and also shortens the time of network fault (response) and treatment, thus the reliability of the network was improved. With the use of multi-Agent technology, the new way for studying network management has advantages of simple calculation, rapid fault detection, etc.

Abstract:After study of existing security models; analysis of information flow model, Bell-LaPadula(BLP) access control model and Biba access control model; and collation and comparison of their advantages and disadvantages, an improved model is put forward that satisfies the actual demands of information security. An implementation strategy is put forward that ensures information security, reliability, practicality and compatibility in the designed security system. An implementation scheme of this security system and its components and functions is provided. This system combines the following functions: mandatory access contro1, privilege separation, security audit, identity authentication and self-protection. It achieves the level 3 of national information security standard and level B1 of TCSEC standard. It was implemented in the Windows NT and Linux operating system and has yielded good resultsin application.

Abstract:The data acquisition of securities dealers’ IT monitoring system lacks uniform standards.In order to solve this problem,this paper proposes monitoring system which uses Simple Network Management Protocl(SNMP) as unified data collection technology.This paper gives the extended characteristic index collection of Management Information Base(MIB) for the process securities dealers’ monitoring system,analyzes the adaptability telecommunication demand characteristics of cross network,and uses PySNMP to complete the collection of index data.A layered forwarding communication is used to realize the adaptability of cross network.Application results show the effectiveness of this system.This system has good data acquisition performance.

Abstract:This article introduces the protocol of network management, SNMP. Including network management modelthe development of SNMP and the choice of software packet. Using the free open net-snmp software packages, the article discusses the SNMP agents design scheme and the implement process based on Linux. Testing result illustrates that the module is able to monitor equipment remotely and efficiently, and the design method is practicable and instructive in other remote monitoring area with safety requirement.

Abstract:In recent years, a lot of attentions have been paid to Internet of Things (IoT) while IoT is more widely used in life. To ensure the security and stability of the IoT and integrate heterogeneous networks in the IoT, IEEE establishes IEEE P21451 protocol family. And IEEE P21451-1-5 is designed to help IoT to manage network through Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) efficiently, but the SNMP based IEEE P21451-1-5 has some security problem. This paper analyses the main structure and security mechanisms of SNMP, and summarize the existing security threats, which can help researchers to improve the security of the IEEE P21451-1-5.

Abstract:Research and analysis has been carried out on two system management technologies.One is based on Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP),the other is based on web based enterprise management(WBEM).Through comparisons on scalability,response speed,web service supportiveness and other aspects,the strengths and weaknesses of SNMP and WBEM are individually summarized.Hence a new framework that utilizes WBEM to manage SNMP compatible devices is proposed.Then with the combined framework of SNMP and WBEM,the management over system underlying resources is realized.Experiment demonstrates that SNMP devices can be integrated into WBEM system by just a few simple steps.The combined framework on the one hand helps the distributed management over devices,on the other hand,by combining web services,provides even more useful interfaces to enable devices that previously only supports SNMP to be able to support accesses from more interfaces.

Abstract:With the rapid development of Internet, network management becomes more and more important. The SNMP network management model is the most widely used management model of TCP/IP-based network. The modularization of documentation and architecture and the enhancement of security, which are addressed in SNMPv3, mean the SNMP network management coming to maturity. In this article, the history of SNMP and typical feature of key versions are introduced, some merits and demerits are presented. And, by conclusion, the authors point out the problems at this stage and further work to be done.

Abstract:The security of SNMP is discussed first in this paper briefly. For version 1 and 2, a main threat, default or wrong setting of communities, is talked about. The access control is based on the community string in SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c. Reading or writing operations on a variable need a community string for itself. The default community strings are public(read-only) and private(read/write) separately. And the PDU is transferred in a plain-text fashion in the network. This paper describes how to find this threat on a device, gets sensitive information, and finally how to stop the threat. 【

Abstract:According to the requirements of integrated monitor and control for the network host, the way of its realization is studied. By analyzing the simple network management protocol (SNMP), the management information base (MIB Ⅱ), and the host resources MIB, a way of integrated monitor and control for the host's hardware, software and network state was provided. It can monitor and control the remote host efficiently. A network integrated monitor and control system was developed. Experimental results proved that it is a successful way of integrated monitor and control for the network host based on SNMP.
