Abstract:Design and realization methods of video image acquisition processing systems based on DSP and CPLD are presented. The system hardware platform consists of a video decoder, a programmable logic device, a digital signal processor, and other devices. The principle and the structure of video image processing are discussed. TVP5150 video decoder is adopted to acquire video signal and data stream, and XC95144XL-CPLD device is configured for system logic control. TMS320VC5416 processor, processing algorithms and software are used for digital image processing. Finally, the video image acquisition, storage and transmission, edge detection and sharpening are implemented. The results show the validity and feasibility of the video image processing system.

Abstract:The DSP(Digital Signal Processor) have got extensive application in the realtime control system because of its rapid instruction processing.This paper proposes a means of controlling the floopy driver based on the TMS320LF2407 of the TI Corp., provides the circuit architecture of the floppy control system, and develops the software with C language . The system completes all kinds of functions of the floppy and the file access function based on the FAT12 file system.

Abstract:An audio signal processing system based on DSP is introduced.The system adopts TI's low power consumption DSP TMS320VC5509A as the main processor,and TLV320AIC23 as the audio codec chip.Therefore,the system's hardware platform and software design are completed based on them,which can be used as a universal platform for other audio signal processing.The paper expounds in detail the method of interface that connects codec chip with DSP.At last,it provides an example of data transmission based on DMA interruption,which upgrades procession speed largely.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of TI' s stereo audio codec chip TLV320AIC23 and combining the applications of digital signal processing and embedded system, a hardware interface circuit consisting of TLV320AIC23, TI' s DSP chip TMS320VC5402 and Samsung' s ARM chip S3C4510B is designed. The interface control programming is accomplished through ARM' s I~2C interface. DSP exchanges data with AIC23 through its multichannel buffer serial port and accomplishes the processing of audio signal. This system is practicable in sound codec processing, voice recognition and sound controlling fields.

Abstract:TMS320C6678 is a high-performance multicore DSP of Texas Instruments.This device can run at a core speed up to 1.25 GHz.In order to provide certain conditions for the DSP to work properly,some auxiliary controls are needed.The EVM for C6678 has provided a solution of auxiliary controls based on FPGA,which involves high developing costs of both hardware and software.In this paper,we proposed an auxiliary control system cored by a single-chip microcontroller.Considering that the external interrupt source of a single-chip microcontroller is limited, we utilized two logic gates to monitor the power-good signals and the reset request signals.However,there is the issue of electronic characteristic matching between the microcontroller and the DSP.We took advantage of the open-drain output characteristic of the microcontroller and involved a level shifter to solve the problem.Eventually,the new auxiliary control system was successfully applied to a TMS320C6678 system.Both hardware and software design of the new auxiliary control system were described detailedly.

Abstract:In order to improve the multi-processor communication speed in multi-processor control system of high-speed data acquisition based on DSP such as Electrical jacquard detector, the paper presents the design of hardware circuit of 5402 HPI and computer parallel ports communication, and software design as well. Based on the integrated enhanced 8-bit HPI on -chip peripheral of TMS320VC5402DSP, the new design can realize the high-speed communication without any additional handshake protocol. The scheme has been used in Electrical jacquard detector and has been found to have a good effect.

Abstract:With the development of the computer technology and digital signal processing technology, virtual technology has become popular. Application of virtual technology in control domain is called virtual device. To verify the effect of the controller, on the basis of system model, the virtual device with approximate input-output characteristics is employed for the system's real-time simulation, achieving the aim of reducing on-spot debugging, enhancing controller's security and improving effect. This paper presents hardware and software designs of a virtual device using DSP chip-TMS320F240, TI Com. and verifies the simulation effect of virtual device through application example.

Abstract:A real-time video image processing system is presented.In this system,FPGA is used as a main logic control unit and data buffering,and DSP processes image data.The main architecture of the system is introduced,and several parts are discussed in detail,such as transformation from RGB color dimension to YCbCr,video data buffering,and access to dual port RAM by DSP and FPGA alternatively.And image compressing with DSP is introduced at the end.With the implementation of the system,we can find that the video processing system can work flexible and adaptive with the control of FPGA,which also providse great facility of debugging.

Abstract:A design scheme of information data processing system based on master-slave type dual DSP chips(TMS320C6202B and ADSP-2187NBST-320)is put forward by function analysis of the infrared guidance control information da ta processing system.The design and implementation methods are introduced in three aspects(working principle,hardware and software).The mission management,dispatch and calculation of entire data processing system are executed by master DSP.The analog magnitude acquisition and output,and discrete magnitude acquisition and output of I/O module are dealt by slave DSP.This design scheme has high generality and scalabitity,and can simplify the design procedure of system.

Abstract:The emergence of high-definition video into mainstream applications has imposed a challenge to researchers and engineers in the field: achieving optimal balance between programmability and hardware efficiency. The DM6467 System-on-Chip (SOC) from Texas Instruments provides both DSP-like design flexibility and ASIC-like performance at the same time for codec designs. In this paper, we investigate how to efficiently implement H.264 HD encoder and decoder based on a C64+ DSP core accompanied by the on-chip coprocessor. The overall system provides full programmability on critical coding toolsets that impact codec quality, such as motion estimation and rate control, while at the same time, utilize base functions that are fully hardware accelerated. We provide performance analysis based on such a system, in terms of system loading for HD encoders.

Abstract:In this paper,according to the characteristics of TI's TMS320DM6437 platform,a video system is implemented based on an open source H.264 encoder X264.TI's DSP/BIOS system is used to speed up the development process.This multithread video system implements video capture,video encode,transmission,video decode and video display.Experimental results show that,after making full use of DSP/BIOS system and setting up the thread schedule,the entire system can run at a high speed and the development time can be reduced significantly.

Abstract:Many signal processing applications like blind source signal separation, audio beam etc, require multi-channel synchronous data acquisition. These applications require signal acquired from multiple channels to be digitized synchronously to preserve the phase relationship. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a high speed synchronous multi-channel data acquisition and processing system based on ADS8365, FPGA and DSP. The design takes ADS8365, XC3S200 and TMS320C6747 as the core devices to implement 12 channels of analog signal synchronous data acquisition and real-time processing. FPGA controls A/D synchronously sampling 12 channel of signal after they pass through the conditioning circuits, then, writes the data into an internal FIFO. The internal FIFO will trigger the interrupt of DSP after it is half-full. Finally, DSP will read the FIFO data and make real-time processing. The system test results show that the signal-to-noise ratio of the system is 67.13dB which meets the design requirements.

Abstract:Application specific instruction processor(ASIP) chips give the high performance and low power levels of application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chips and the flexibility of digital signal processor(DSP) chips.A video codec system-on-chip(SoC) was designed based on an ASIP chip architecture with the encode and decode parts of the video codec SoC having the same media signal processing architecture.The encode and decode parts each consist of an 8-issue very long instruction word(VLIW) DSP core and user defined hardware for the data transfer and variable length codec.Simulations using 0.13 μm show that the chip can accomplish 15 f/s QCIF H.263 baseline encoding at 17 MHz,while 15 f/s QCIF H.263 baseline decoding at 10 MHz.

Abstract:We implement H.263 (by 3rd Generation Partnership Project,3GPP) coding and decoding on a special DSP which is designed for the implement of multimedia applications. According to the characteristic of this DSP,we optimized the critical modules of H.263 coding and decoding by completely using technologies of SIMD,software pipeline and special instructions and optimized the memory arrangement. We finally realized the H.263 coding and decoding of the size-configured video frequency. Compared with TMS320C6201 and TMS320C6401,the total periodicity of our result is 40% less than the TMS320C6201 does.

Abstract:With the development of wireless video technology and embedded technology, a dedicated digital signal processor (DSP) can achieve the video transmission stably and flexibly. Some existing wireless video transmission algorithms do not perform well in response to complex channel environments. A pseudo-analog video algorithm that can be run in a dedicated instruction set was proposed. At the transmitter, the image data which are removed spatially redundant are divided into L-shaped blocks for power allocation, and the digital signal are sent to CRC and Turbo coding. Finally, the modulated digital signal and the pseudo-analog data after power allocation are sent to framing. The receiver includes channel estimation and de-framing, recovers digital signal and pseudo-analog signal through error detection and decoding. We have optimized the algorithm at the assembly level, so that the entire system is more flexible. The entire transfer system will run on the FPGA and hardware DSP boards for debugging.

Abstract:A general method for TMS320VC54x and CPLD to acquire and compress images is presented, the design of image compression system and key techniques are described. It combines the code algorithm with the feature of pipeline to optimize the software program. Design result shows that: (1) the architecture can meet requirements of low bitrate digital video communication systems; (2) the system has a practical value in digital video surveillance for the devices.

Abstract:The authors first analyse the development of application-specified DSP, and then propose a configurable DSP, CmDSP, aiming at the field of media processing. Based on independent media instruction set, CmDSP uses SIMD technology and is implemented with acceleration units, including complex multiplier and algorithm specified co-processor. In addition, it has a dual-cluster structure and VLIW architecture. CmDSP is implemented using SIMC 0.18 μm Digital Logic library, and instruction level tests are completed in test board, along with the realization of several media applications, which indicates that it can satisfy the engineering demand in this field.
