Abstract:The critical micelle concentration of the mixed surfactants at different ratios was confirmed by means of measuring the surface tension.Through designed experiment with response surface method, the effects of three factors, including Tween 80,sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate and water/soil ratio,on the biodegradation of phenanthrene by immobilized microbes were executed. Results indicate that the critical micelle concentrations of surfactant at various water/soil ratios are different. The critical micelle concentration is inversely proportional to the water/soil ratio. At the same water/solid ratio, different proportions of surfactant lead to different critical micelle concentrations. The optimal experimental condition of the response surface model for the best immobilized microbes biodegradation of phenanthrene at different water/soil ratios was obtained, when the sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate molar concentration of 1.40 mol/L,Tween 80 mass concentration of 0.050 g/L,water/soil ratio at 10/1 (mL/g).Under the optimized conditions, the immobilized microorganism biodegradation rate of phenanthrene reaches 55%,and the mass ratio of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate to Tween 80 is 9.76/1.This result is beneficial to strengthen the remediation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons contaminated soil through adding mixed surfactants at an appropriate proportion by immobilized microorganism biodegradation.
