Abstract:Networked manufacturing enterprises need a wider support from external manufacturing resources. This paper proposes a promising service to use web-based extended manufacturing resources for product development. The system architecture and enabling techniques are presented. Manufacturing resources on the web are achieved through focused crawling and semantic web technologies. These resources are further utilized through web-based resource repositories such as part libraries. The major modules of web-based manufacturing resource service are encapsulated with web services. A case study of mould product development is presented, which promotes the networked collaborative design and manufacturing processes. Some preliminary results indicate the feasibility and scalability of web-based manufacturing resource services for networked manufacturing.

Abstract:Collaborative product development needs the wider support of web manufacturing resources. A network-oriented resource service system and its key implementing technologies are presented in this paper. The manufacturing resource information is achieved through web search engine and processed with semantic description. The system also realizes the Internet-based cooperative development environment and web resource bases including web parts library as well as distributed knowledge repositories. Finally, an application case is introduced, which promotes the networked cooperative design and collaborative manufacturing of tire mould. It preliminarily demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of this Internet-based resource service pattern for product development.

Abstract:Networked manufacturing system can enhance competitiveness of enterprises and promote collaboration level between enterprises. Currently, networked manufacturing system based on Application Service Provider (ASP) platform has become a new research trend. The application of ASP platform on networked manufacturing system was researched. Some new technologies using in our system were presented, including user-management technology based on layered model, service-management technology based on Web Service and charge-management technology based on atomic charge unit. Then an example was given to illustrate the application of these key technologies.

Abstract:The sharing and inner operating between different applications have become increasingly insistent demands in the process of implementing enterprise informationization. Firstly, the current situation of the existed information systems in the enterprise was analyzed. Secondly, the limitations of the traditional integration techniques were discussed. Thirdly, the advantage of Web services was described and an enterprise application integration framework based on Web services was presented. Abstract:Well-defined resource model is significant for resource management in internet age; so many resource models have been developed. The key issue is that the resource dynamic property is lack of an in-depth study, although the resource property is the universal element in these models. This research focuses on the dynamic property of resource. A new conception of state property was proposed. State property is distinguished from general resource properties in environmental and temporal correlation. Resource state property set was defined strictly. State property set is a perfect and independent set separated from dynamic property set. Completeness and time series are the primary features. Combined with a manufacturing resource model, the state property set was created to demonstrate the methods to get the state property set.

Abstract:Internet-based manufacturing can greatly improve the efficiency of collaboration between enterprises and exploit more of the resource for legitimate use, so it is valuable for both the improvement of new product development and reduction of cost. With the augment of the resources and services, it's become difficult to find what a user wants using a key word based method. Semantic Web is a useful tool for resource and service sharing. We present a framework for manufacturing resource and service discovery, and give a method to ranking the search results semantically.

Abstract:To resolve problems of managing the information of products, process, and equipment resources and realize the match between the manufacturing tasks and manufacturing resources by the core-company in networked manufacturing environment, the matching framework of manufacturing task and resources is proposed. Firstly, the P-P-R model based on the ontology is constructed to describe information of product processing characteristics, the processing technology and equipment resources. The P-P-R mapping relationship is established. Secondly, the match of the networked manufacturing tasks and resources is realized by using the extension theory. Finally, the prototype of the networked manufacturing resource deployment is developed. An example verifies the effectiveness of the method, thus overcoming the differences between Web described manufacturing resources and achieving heterogeneous data in a unified platform. It is effective for improving the efficiency of inter-enterprise collaboration.

Abstract:During complex manufacturing process, various manufacturing information systems and management information systems are often existing as heterogeneous systems, and manufacturing data is distributed everywhere across the whole value chain of the enterprises. One of the most valuable targets in the integration of these manufacturing information systems is the sharing of enterprise resources which are described in different formats in different information systems. In this paper, meta-resource model is extended using workflow to combine enterprise resources together with business process during manufacturing. Then, an effective method of data integration is proposed based on the meta-resource model. In the proposed method, heterogeneous data is encapsulated in unified format of resource and binding with workflow so that data resources could be accessed according to the business process of manufacturing. Finally, case study shows that the resource-based data integration approach is more robot and flexible than traditional data integration method, especial under the environment of complex manufacturing.

Abstract:In view of the technology status of middle and small sized machinery manufacturing enterprises in China,this paper put forward applying information highway to establish network based manufacturing system.Through information integration to reorganize manufacturing resources at different region,the product oriented virtual enterprise was built up,and these resources can be organized and used effectively to respond quickly to the change of market.The strategies such as the material flow technology,rules,etc, were adopted to reorganize network based manufacturing resources.On the basis of computer simulation technology,computer assisted production and schedule system of network based workshop was established to realize the organization and dymamic schedule.

Abstract:Networked manufacturing is an advanced manufacturing pattern that was born of information technologies and suits the networked economic environment. Networked manufacturing service platforms have been widely established to support this new pattern. Since the island problems are retarding further development of networked manufacturing, integration of existing networked manufacturing platforms is in demand. A federated integration mode is proposed to integrate the existing networked manufacturing platforms and provide a large-scale distributed resource sharing and cooperative environment. The nature of federated integration is discussed, and the architecture of federated integration system was put forward along with a set of rules and three types of integration services. Two key issues in federated integration are discussed in detail. One is the federation management, including the hierarchy of federations, the basic states of federations and the state-keeping mechanism using factory/instance pattern. The other issue is the authentication, authorization and access control in across-platform applications. Finally, an implementation is presented.

Abstract:In order to implement the integration and application of legacy hardware/software manufacturing resources in manufacturing enterprises, a scheme and a framework for the manufacturing resource encapsulation and integration are introduced. Under the control of unified Web browser interfaces, through starting different encapsulating templates, the re-configuration and encapsulation for legacy manufacturing resources can be implemented, the information interaction and acquirement can be realized, the collaborative work can be done, and finally the goal of integration and control for legacy manufacturing resources can be arrived at in networked manufacturing systems.

Abstract:To flexibly integrate various systems at different stages and improve the openness and reusability of information in remote collaborative product development, a framework of integrated product modeling based on Web Services is presented The integrated model consists of a master model and application models that combine static and dynamic information supporting whole product lifecycle. The master model contains the core and shared information. The application model relating to specific manufacture domain is built up by extracting the master model and complementing domain information. The flexible integration of heterogeneous systems is ensured by the use of Web Services. The openness and expansibility are preserved by combining STEP and XML for information representation and exchange. The high reusability of product information is achieved by using a service-oriented multi-granularity schema The information consistency among the master model and application models is maintained through a coordinated-protocol for rapidly acquiring alteration and reacting to it.

Abstract:Networked manufacturing is a trend of manufacturing industry and Application Service Provider (ASP) is its mainstream mode. In order to solve the current questions of networked manufacturing, grid technology was put forward as a feasible approach to reform the networked manufacturing system based on ASP; considering the characteristic of grid technology, a new design constructing manufacturing grid system for ASP mode was presented, and then the application architecture and the technology architecture of this system were investigated intensively. Application architecture was composed of user layer, application service layer, grid middleware layer and grid resource layer, technology architecture was composed of fabric, connectivity, resource, collective and application, and integrated Globus Toolkit with them. Finally, an application case was given. The research, development and implementation of manufacturing grid system for ASP mode provide a realizable solution for manufacturing industry. As a result, the competitive ability of enterprise would be promoted. © 2006 IEEE.

Abstract:The purpose of manufacturing is to realize the requirement of customer. In manufacturing process of cloud system, there exist a lot of resource services which have similar functional characteristics to realize the requirement. It makes the manufacturing process more diverse. To develop the quality and reduce cost, a resource configuration model on cloud-manufacturing platform is put forward in this paper. According to the generalized six-point location principle, a growth design from the requirement of customers to entities with geometric constraints is proposed. By the requirement growing up to product, a configuration process is used to match the entities with the instances which the resources in the database could supply. Different from most existing studies, this paper studies the tolerance design with multiple candidate resource suppliers on cloud manufacturing to make the market play a two-level game considering the benefit of customers and the profit of resources to give an optimal result. A numerical case study is used to illustrate the proposed model and configuration process. The performance and advantage of the proposed method are discussed at the end.
