Abstract:Based on advanced Microprocessors MPC8260 and real-time operating system VxWorks, a high-performance embedded computing control platfonn is proposed to meet the increased requirements of complexity and real time in intelligent control systems. DSP array and FPGA is also designed for high-speed parallel signal processing. This platfonn can be used in communication, intelligent robot, military aircrafts, radar and medical imaging instruments etc.

Abstract:Aiming at issues of the modern embedded turbine supervisory instruments such as simplistic function, weak process power, low efficiency and so on, the technique of double CPUs with the cores of Intel PXA270 and Cyclone II EP2C20 microprocessors is employed in the present design. With embedded linux operating system and the developing platform of Qt software implemented, important functions such as data acquisition, data transfer based on TCP/IP protocols, display of data waveform, local storage of data, data analysis, elementary fault diagnosis and so forth can be achieved all together in a single facility. After tested on the Rotor Kit 4 of Bently Nevada and applied on 300MW turbine of the Power System Dynamic Simulation Laboratory in North China Electric Power University, the newly designed embedded turbine supervisory instruments show that the technique of double CPUs is effective, and the portable system can overcome the deficiencies of the modern embedded turbine supervisory instruments as mentioned above.

Abstract:To satisfy the design demands for real-time numerical control system with high precision,this paper explores a design scheme for the system based on multi-core processor.With the strong computing power of the multi-core processor,the scheme can fulfill the requirements of high-precision and real-time computing in the numerical control systems.Meanwhile,the author also designs a monitoring module of mismachining tolerances to actual monitor the various tolerances during the manufacturing process,which greatly improves the machining precision.Moreover,by clipping the Linux real-time operation system,the real-time operation platforms for the numerical control systems are realized.

Abstract:The latest multiprocessor platforms are ideal for implementing multi-OS embedded applications. IPC (inter-processor communication) interface makes it possible for a multiprocessor system to easily support multiple subsystems parallel processing. In this paper, we propose a new type of OS-level communication interface designing based-on CMPS (complementary multiprocessor system) and present the primary principles and corresponding driver structure of HP I (host-port interface). Take a single-board embedded multimedia system which was integrated three embedded microprocessors (PXA255, TMS320DM642 and SM501) as hardware platform, detailed description of how implement tasks communication and A/V (audio/video) data transform via HPI between different OS(Linux and muC/OS-II) running on ARM and DSP separately.

Abstract:The design of a hardware interface circuit of CAN for the controller in a high-pressure common rail diesel engine is presented and the software design method for CAN communication module in a real-time multi-task system is studied in particular.The result shows that the designed interface circuit of CAN can meet the requirements of its application to engine control system;The software module of CAN communication built can satisfy the real-time requirements of CAN communication and reduce the expense of CPU resource of the ECU,as well as provide a good development platform for the function expansion of CAN communication software module.

Abstract:This paper proposes a real-time solution to data-driven control for multi-motor-driven mechanisms. The first contribution is that a complete real-time motion control platform is presented, i.e., all the physical controllers in both master and slave levels operate on their own real-time operating systems, and high-speed standard peripheral component interconnect bus interface guarantees an efficient access between the two levels and extensibility of the platform. As a second contribution, the proposed control system is implemented with a data-driven control method that enables the controller design without considering the dynamics model of the system, which highlights its flexibility to diverse controlled plants. Finally, an experimental illustration is presented to verify the proposed scheme, comparison results demonstrate its superior motion control performance.

Abstract:The control system of fuel cell engine was a multi-input multi-output,multi-variable control system.It was necessary to design a high performance controller to calculate the complex control algorithm.In this paper,a dual MCU architecture was prompted.The ARM9 series MCU was used to execute the control algorithm,while the MPC56x MCU was used to drive the low level input/output and peripheral module interfaces.They shared the information via CAN bus.The digital core circuit of ARM9 and MCU56x were designed and the dual MCU ECU was tested.

Abstract:Taking the high performance MPC564 single chip microcomputer as the platform,the open electronic control system of gasoline engine was developed,the necessary peripheral circuit was designed,and the corresponding control program was compiled.For 479Q gasoline engine,the system was tested by controlling the engine from start to idle.The results show that the system can achieve the corresponding control functions according to control requirements and control strategies.

Abstract:The overall design of an experimental UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller) is provided based on its principle. For its core: control and protection (C & P) system, multi-CPU hardware architecture is presented, which is divided into three parts: monitoring unit, recording unit and C&P unit. The function module for each unit includes a CPU (DSP) to perform unitary task. Function modules exchange data with each other via dual-port RAM. All function modules connect together with ISA bus. The design of each function module is described in detail. The dynamic simulation shows, that the multi-CPU hardware structure is efficient, which can be referred in designing other C&P systems of FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System).

Abstract:For alleviating the contradiction between the speed and precision of interpolation, a parallel CNC system based on symmetric multi-processor J1900 quad-core processor is developed. A parallel prosumer system framework is put forward based on circular buffer which establishes the mechanism of module decoupling and data transmission. The parallelization of CNC is completed using the multi-thread method based on Pthread library. The cycle self-regulation algorithm based on the number of interpolation subdivision is designed which could effectively prospect the length of machining path and change the cycle of each module properly in time. The buffer surplus feedback scheduling algorithm is designed which could solve the problem of buffer overflow and underflow. Both of them constitute the buffer controller unit (BCU) making all modules work correctly. Finally, the experiment on multi-thread parallel CNC system is carried out which indicates that the system framework is workable, buffer control algorithms is effective.

Abstract:To improve the on board data handling ability,an on-board electronic system required further optimization.On the basis of present reconfigurable on-board computer design,the paper introduced a concept of multiple core processors.According to the functions of the data handling and limitation of the hardware resource,the tasks implemented by single processor are divided into two parts taken by dual-processors.Compared with on-board computer employed on SY-3,multiple core processors have surmounted the peers in computation speed and calculation accuracy.The result verifies that multiple processors will play an important role in future spacecraft designs.

Abstract:Hardware and software of electron-control unit(ECU) for the free piston engine were developed based on MC9S12DP512.The ECU contained such modules as MCU,power supply,driving circuit and communication interface.Their particular functions and design methods were explained.Experiments demonstrate that the modularization designed control unit is of very strong function and able to fulfill the monitor and control objectives for the free piston engine accurately.

Abstract:Real-time system and the finite state theory were introduced into the study of control software for electrically controlled engine, function modules were managed and scheduled by the real-time system according to the engine operating points. The priority-based scheduler made better use of resources, and allowed all events to be handled as quickly and efficiently as possible. V-development platform was achieved: function modules were implemented by Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, and program code were made by TargetLink, which cut down debug phase, development period and costs.

Abstract:Much attention is now placed on the CMP (chip multiprocessor) architecture design while one important issue in this domain is the on-chip communication mechanism. The classic design of communication mechanism in embedded heterogeneous multi-core processor only satisfies its basic communication requirement and will cost a lot of additional communication. This paper proposes a novel communication mechanism called 'Main-Cooperation' model whose kernel component controls all the on-chip communication. The experimentation result shows that our model is 23% better than the classic one in the domain.

Abstract:A self-designed hardware-in-the-loop simulation system for diesel is introduced, which can be used to improve the efficiency of developing engine electronic control units. In this system, a standard personal computer serves operating console, through which the software is controlled and hardware is connected. The diesel model performs well by using floating-point DSP running at 40 MHz. An intelligent interface module using 80196 microprocessor supports the excellent real-time behavior of the system by transmitting signals between modules quickly and accurately. Common memories are used for saving and delivering data in the system, but with different types for different modules. For the engine simulation, a simplified non-linear model is developed, which could meet the real time running demand while the accuracy is good enough for studying the engine's dynamics. And the system's performance is proved by some simulation results provided.
