Three-Dimensional Modeling and Virtual Exhibition for Garden Landscaping

Abstract:Green space system has multifunction like ecology, culture, society and aesthetic. Meanwhile, because of the complicated plant morphological structure, there is no systematic and quantified design in urban planning. Via Virtual Reality(VR), Virtual Plants(VP)and GIS technologies etc., therefore, parametric VP landscape design and concept model in virtual exhibition have been proposed, and the parametric plant modeling method is combined with the plant spatial layout. With the help of the garden landscaping example, the parametric modeling method approach and the plant morpho-logical structure parameters to build the three-dimensional model of garden vegetation. Then, the plant spatial layout rules are described through parameterization. On the basis of Open Scene Graph(OSG), Oculus rift VR outfit is integrated, and the three-dimensional models’construction and virtual exhibition have been realized. Afterwards, taking Fuzhou University as example, has verified that the overall solution is effective.
