Abstract:"Signal and System" plays an important role in the course of teaching of Information Engineering. This paper mainly aims at the problems existing in the process of teaching, and proposes the following two improvements. In the course of theoretical teaching, combining with MATLAB software, achieve "picture" teaching; In the process of experimental teaching, taking the hardware test box and MATLAB software togrther to achieve the combination of hardware and software. Several experimental examples such as the representation of basic signals, the impulse, step zero input and zero state responses, the Fourier transform of periodic and non-periodic signals,and the square wave synthesis are illustrated that the introduction of MATLAB makes the teaching contents more "pictures", the experiment and teaching contents are more integrated , the teaching efficiency is significantly improved.
