Optimal Pilots and Channel Estimation in MIMO-OFDM System

Abstract:Channel estimation is the key technology in MIMO-OFDM system design. In this paper, we deduce a optimal pilots in the transmitter diversity based on the system design, and propose a novel robust FDTC channel estimation algorithm. Compared with the existing alternative transmitting pilot methods, the proposed pilots algorithm can be scattered in all the pilot subcarriers. Especially in mobile channels, the proposed algorithm shows lower MSE. And FDTC algorithm can farther improve the performance, and have better robust and lower calculating complexity.
