A Plane Electromagnetic Wave Scattering by A Ferrite Sphere

Abstract:The analytical solution of the scattering fields of a ferrite sphere by a plane wave using spherical vector-wave-function is obtained in this paper. In source-free ferrite anisotropic media, by using the source-free Maxwell's equations, the expansion of plane wave factors with the spherical vector-wave-function in isotropic media, and the Fourier transformation, the scattering fields of eigenfunction representation are derived in spectral domain. It is shown that the solution of the source-free Maxwell's equations for a ferrite anisotropic medium are composed of two eigenwave traveling with different wave numbers. A special numerical result is given between the MOM-CG-FFT (Moment of Methods, with Conjugate Gradient Method and Fast Fourier Transform) and the present method, and the numerical results are presented for the more general ferrite dielectric material media, for example, the numerical result of the resonance region and the loss ferrite media have been calculated. The formulations of this article can be generalized to the conditions of more complex cases, such as layered ferrite anisotropic sphere, anisotropic ferrite-coated conducting sphere, and ferrite multi-sphere-scatterer cases.
